Love Among the Bookshelves

Even in this post, we talk about Ruskin Bond and how his ways of writing will obviously make you fall in love with him.

Introduction:- Love among bookshelves starts with a very witty anecdote about how the book isn't about finding torrid love affairs between bookshelves. It was witty but truly embarks how the writer is much of a reader as he is as a writer. It is a book that talks about Ruskin Bond's reading list when he was a young man. Books that gave him enjoyment, that banished loneliness or depression, books that inspired him to become a writer. This book is written by him as a memoir of his favorite authors, while reading this book I remember the fond memory of how in childhood we used to sneak on things that were kept outside of our reach, like walking slowly and steadily barefoot on toes.

My memory from the book:- Well every book brings a lovely memory with itself, I think it is their nature to bring warm hugs to you whenever your mood regardless of your mood. There are a few lines that did take my heart in their own way. There's a paragraph where Ruskin Bond talks about how everyone talks about how reading is becoming a dying habit but he doesn't think like that. Although this as a topic should be included in conversations because it is a promising issue that might become a grave concern. The five main authors and their books that are included in this book are:-

1)  The Week in the Jungle by P.G. Woodhouse ( Love among the chickens)
2)  Holiday Reading: Classics and Comics by H.E. Bates
3)  Schooldays, Rule Days by W. Somerset Maugham
4) That Year in Jersey by Charles Dickens
5)  Those two years in London by Richard Jefferies

Major things that I liked:-
1) It allows me to know the author more, I really like this fact about Ruskin's bond as how he always allows his fellow readers to get to learn more about him, his thoughts, and feelings or it can be his favorite books.
2) The book is written in a simple manner, it can be as is whenever he is talking about his feelings for different books or whenever he is telling about his experiences in life, the easy language makes it an easy read.
3) It is a perfect coffee table book as easy language and fewer pages make it a one-go read that isn't pressurizing to complete and it is not a big fat read.
4) While reaching the end the book gives you a short
