पढ़ना, ज़रा सोचना - कृष्ण कुमार।

''Padhna, Zara, Sochna''  the title is quite interesting if we just go with the title but I can assure you the book is more interesting and beautiful than the title. The book talks about how there is a big difference between just studying and reading and comprehending it. the book is written in very rich and pure Hindi so basically, it has an audience of Indians mostly.

The book basically talks about how just being intelligent is not the pathway to developing good reading habits. Developing reading as a habit is a big chunk of the process that you have to polish and refine again and again. The book somewhere resembles a research paper as it basically just talks about how the youth have been stuck in the loop of the digital world and have forgotten the slowness of lives. The book is quite a beautiful bundle of quotes as some lines will definitely be stuck with you for a good long time. There is a very beautiful incident that the writer depicted in a chapter about how many people just read whatever they have to read for their exams as reading that part is necessary for gaining good marks. The education system needs to be redeveloped in such a manner that children don't have to be in a rush all the time. If someone asks me what the main theme of the book is I'll just say, Phone rakhiye or Ek Kitab uthaiye. The book has deeply touched me at the core level and it has found a place in my favorite books section and my all-time recommendation list.

What I liked about the book?
  • The beauty and essence of how the writer has differentiated between Reading and Studying. While the two words sound similar in Hindi there is a major difference between both in English.
  • The book definitely shows us the picture of how some people or I say parents consider reading a waste of time as it never really helps students in their careers but the writer subtly indicates different ways where reading helps students overall rather than helping them in making careers.
  • According to the writer, reading helps students in developing their cognitive ability which is kind of true as reading definitely helps young minds to develop ideas and to enhance personality.
  • The book is totally written in Hindi, you won't find a single word of English which is a talk about beauty in itself.
